    Hiya, Ally -

Have you heard Sugar Town by Nancy Sinatra? I swear I hadn't until ages after we'd put Swagsack out, but it's Banwell Blues all the way. As opposed to How does that Grab You Darlin which we blatantly stole the riff out of for Flagpole. Probably would have sampled it if we'd been that kind of bunch, but it was cheaper to just copy it. I kept hoping that someone would notice that, but it never happened.

I'd certainly call the Springfield one of mine and Richard's favourites all the way - but not that particular one for some reason. Maybe it was a bit too close to home - we'd usually try and strangle at birth anything that sounded too similar to anything else(the above was an exception) but howlers did creep through - things we'd spotted too late (see above again). Oddly enough the last thing Rich & me recorded during those old BOB times was a copy of Rock & Roll Woman, just to see if we could. We only got as far as the backing track, never sung on it. I remember it was OK, pretty close, but I've not heard it since '93 I suppose... Shall we finish it one day, Rich?

Sally Free and Easy I don't know by Davy Graham - I did get a best of after BOB, but I lent it to someone 10 or 12 years ago and never got it back... eh, Richard?

I'll happily own up to any other suspicions people may have if there's any truth in them... Cetainly loads of bits of our unreleased stuff kept jumping out of other songs on the radio during the 90's & noughties - no chance anyone's heard them or anything, but there's only so many notes to play with. We deffo had Scarecrow written and on Peel before the Big Breakfast started up, though...

    Cheers, S. xx

    - nice to see you can do Caps if you have to, Ally... x.
